Default Starview HD Combo+'s dual tuner

Hi. I have a starview hd combo+. cable side working fine, but when do a satellite search i only get about 25 different versions of ITV. i am scanning Astra 2A/2D (28.2E). All other settings left as they are and do a free channels only search. Where am i going wrong? I have it connected to my sky dish, which works fine with sky+.

There are multiple ITV versions on satellite.
You can choose to keep them all or just select your own region, entirely up to you.

Hi mate, I should think that you are only scanning one transponder, have a look before doing a scan and you might find that there is a line somewhere which says single transponder or the whole satellite. As I am not familiar with your box I cannot say what the exact wording will be, but it will be something like that anyway. How long does it take when you scan?

Regards Wez

thanks for that, makes sense. It took like 1-2mins and signal only reads around 50%, even though its perfect on the sky+ box. i need this sorting because sky have alot more free channels than VM, and i dont want to have to connect up too many boxes.

Hi mate you are not scanning all the transponders in that time. Have a look in the set up menu and see if there is a way to search all the channels. I note from your first that you have chosen to search for just the FTA channels and that is fine, but somewhere in that part of the menu there has got to be a way to search all the transponders and not just one. I hope you get it sorted. Your signal can't be that bad, all the ITVs and BBCs are on the weakest footprint and if you are getting the ITV channels then there is no reason why you should not get the rest.

Regards Wez

I would hope to be able mate, go for it a post a few screen grabs. The blind search will get you everything it is possible to get from a satellite. You will need to downsize the pics to post them on here mate.

Regards Wez

Hi Kerrywez, if you look at SAT-WORLDS 'Starview HD+ screenshots' also in this section..the 1st three post are satellite related. 1st post is where im trying to fiddle around in, 2nd post is where you can set whatever DISeq thing is (upto 4), and 3rd post is motor related which i dont think applies here because its connected to a sky dish.

can you tell me by looking at his 1st post what info i put where. i have figured out now that where it says search type i have following option: all, only one tp, blind..and i think a forth.

any further info i can provide please ask, like turning things on/off let you enter more infomation for search.

Hi, have you got your settings the exact same as they are in this one mate? I am not that sure but I would think that the all in the line above the 18V line might be telling to box to search all transponders, do no harm to try that id you have not got it set to all.

Yeah i did the search with this set to all, the same Astra 2A/2D as well..but my tp was different to one in pic. which tp should i be scanning for uk? or should i say start scanning as it increases as the scan goes on..and correction the time taken for scan is alot longer than 2mins, more like 5-10mins.

could you give me an example of single transponder/channel given the menu in pic. i will try it and see if i get anywhere.

thanks
