Hi, I first had a sky box put upstairs into bedroom then a year later had sky plus put downstairs. I would like sky plus in the bedroom also now but have noticed that the wiring is different. Can I buy a sky plus box then split the single wire from the skybox using a satellite splitter and connect it to the sky plus box?

No, you need to run/get run an additional cable from the dish to the Sky+ box.
