Default New soldering station.

After all this talk of ESD lately I decided it was time for a new soldering station with a grounded tip. Money has not been flowing wonerfully of late so I just bought a cheepie from maplin (this one) and what a tool! I have been struggling for ages with some old relic I payed a fiver for at a car boot sale! If I'd bought one of these from the off I would have saved a fortune in time alone! It tells you the acctual temperature of the tip in celcius and farenheit, and also put on a warning light if the temperature is wrong. I know most of you expect this as standard but to waht I am used to its a whole new world. Just makes me wonder what I would have got if I had spent five times what I did on a top of the range weller or something.

http://www.one-stop-factory.com/prod...t-Air+stations These are quite reasonably priced hot air soldering stations, not sure what voltage they are though, with them coming from china. Cheaper than the ones on EvilBay at the moment. Can't comment on the quality, but everything else i had from one stop has been great

Nice find dangerboy. I think I will invest in one of those. The chineses I believe use 220v which is close enough to our 230v and there will be voltage regs fitted to the circuitry somewhere I am sure.

Not sure, I think most stuff is 220v, but a quick google (looking at first couple of pages) says 110, which I don't believe is correct. Best thing to do is email them and see, they speake v. good english

Nozzles - Sounds Rude!!

Like these ones?

Don't forget if you do order from one-stop in the shipping instructions ask them to mark it as gift. They will do, it comes with a value of $25 and no customs or import tax, Ship by DHL - takes about 4 days!!

Anyway all this talk of Chinese & Chips is making me hungry and it's only 7:48!!
Hmmmmmmmm Chinese!:beard: :beard:
