Exclamation Rumours of Switchover to 50meg (Docsis 3)?

Hi guys, I know a lot of us are having problems trying to get online with anything more than 1/4 meg macs at the minute. There is a lot of rumours flying round about VM merging the 10 and 20 meg mac address servers with the new 50 meg mac address server. I would just like to know if these rumours are to be believed or is VM just being b*stards with every1. I have tried a few macs that were working in my modems, i.e i tried a 20meg in a sb this morning it was working tried it in an ambit nothing and the when i went to try it in the sb again nothing. So is the end nigh for the modems aswell as the cable boxes or are we just experiencing some sort of attempt at sabotage by VM.

Not possible as most of the modems that people currently have for the 10 and 20mb services aren't DOCSIS 3 compliant, for VM to do this would require supplying everyone with a new modem

So do you have any ideas what is happening over the country with most of these modems going down. I have just but the xmas gift dump in one of my 255's that was playin up and tried it with my legit 10meg mac in and still not connecting. I left all the settings the same as the thread says and nothing

alot of areas are now enforcing BPI which means you need the certificates from the modem of the mac you are cloning!

Not really, BPI can be worked around, BPI+ atm cannot, as far as I'm aware.

i dont understand that, because the 4200 does not enforce bpi and its not legit so no certificate!!
this really confusing,if i had the same problem on all clones i try then i would say its the fact they have infinite/haxorware/sigma on them but this does not happen to all macs!!! some macs work on sigma some on hax etc etc
we need to find out why??
