Default VM box and multiroom

Im in the Motherwell area of scotland and the rumour is new N3 cards will be here with next two weeks ( a mate suposidly chating to a VM guy in street). Anyway been looking at Sly and VM options most likely stick with VM. Sly broadband not an option as our local exchange needs upgrading. Already have the free TV with phone broadband package. I searched the site but 4 hours later cant find a relevent post so here goes and please be kind if there has been a previous post. For £44 VM will give me XL TV + V+box but despite numerous calls will not let me keep the old box for bedroom. Is there anyway you can connect two TVs to one VM box or will i need to pay the extra fiver a month or move box between rooms. Live feed in both rooms already. Any suggestions would be appriciated

Assuming that the V+ boxes have an RF output, like the normal V boxes do, you can just run some aerial cable to the other box, and tune in with an analogue TV.

I have Virgin TV piped into every room in the house using this method, I'm using a distribution amplifier in the loft.

The only thing I have not managed to suss out yet is which remote extender will be compatible with both my distribution amplifier and the Virgin box.

Edit, Oh, you have a live feed in the 2nd room already, you could disconnect that from the splitter, and use that same cable to feed the RF out from the box instead.

I know its only £5 but with my monthly bill going up by near £20 I was still trying to save a little. Still got a virtually unused spare VM box in atic that was new at time of original instalation. If I go for the V+ box they will take the the old box downstairs away.

so you are saying running a cable from RF out to the other TV do u still need to use a V box to get the feed into the TV? Sorrry not very good at tech stuff. I assume you have to watch the same channel! Sorry what is a remote sender!

I supose it will be connected in the usual way but at the moment I just have the normal box as Ive yet to order the V+ box. I know Sly can be distributed throughout a house without using added expense of multiroom option so I was just exploring if this can be done with V or V+ - its the wife wanting a V+ box as she is disabled and in bed for long periods of time. Just looking for guidance

Yes, it can be done the same way as Sky, apart from the 'Sky remote eye' part.

Hmmm, cutting off the RF and SCART with the box in HD mode...

Thats a crappy thing to do!! My HD box doesn't do that.

So assuming I get a V+box rather than up grade the basic free TV package in my bundle to L or XL, until I try running a cable to connect the second box I wont know if it works on HD? If I just use the current V box and the spare V box, there should be no problems then ? Im not a tech wizz at all so may need further help to do this but just want to be sure I dont need 2 cards. Another question, sorry!, if a can get hold of a + box elsewhere if thats possible, will the new card still work when it eventually works or can it tell what sort of box Ihave? Sorry to be a pain, somthing thats appears simplish is difficult for me to follow hence guidence. If I could get hold of someone to do this for me on the QT I would need to be a pest.
Thanks anyway
