Guys just wondering, is this any good?
Motorised Satellite Dish 80cm with wall mounts set 4 U. on eBay (end time 06-Feb-10 22:06:53 GMT) I have been advised that I require a vbox or something with it to make it work... I am trying to set up a cheap sat system. Would this setup work with a dreambox? Thanks AJ |

A VBox is only needed if you have a 36v motor or actuator and the receiver does not have DiSEqC but a 36v positioner built in. The Dreambox will run a DiSEqC motor on USALS, so you will need a DiSEqC motor if you want to motorise the dish.

Looks a bit tatty, make sure that the motor works but yes you will need a VBox, by the time you have bought a VBox and assuming the motor works you might as well by a DISEqC motor £35 and a decent dish and LNB £39 as a VBox will set you back £40-50 alone.

No not installed! and 80cm dish The £170 is a good price if it includes the dish, motor and LNB (new of course?)

The cheapest is not always the best, at that price to supply and install all the kit properly is far too cheap, unless its a mate.
Ask the make of dish, the LNB,the motor, what brackets will be used, which cable, will the receiver be given a basic setup, will it be guaranteed?

The T&K brackets with that dish looks like its seen better days - its rusty as hell!
Id be inclined to sling them into the nearest metal recycling skip and buy some new ones.
