ITV announced it had secured exclusive terrestrial rights to the new James Bond movie Casino Royale, to be released in cinemas in November this year starring Daniel Craig in his debut appearance as 007.
The deal also includes exclusive rights to additional runs of the entire 22 title James Bond library featuring all five incarnations of the legendary British secret agent and titles such as Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough and Die Another Day plus classic James Bond films including Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger.
ITV’s Director of Acquisitions, Jay Kandola, said of her first acquisition in her new role: “The Bond catalogue contains some of the most successful films in British film history and I am delighted to have secured the first terrestrial screening of Daniel Craig as James Bond, exclusively for ITV viewers.â€Â
ITV’s Director of Television, Simon Shaps said: “ITV is delighted to have secured the rights to this hotly contested catalogue of movies.
