since I cancelled sky in november they have sent two offers by post.the first was to use my sd box but to keep the sub I had(sky sports and 3 other packages) for half price for 12 months,quite tempting as it meant going fron £36 to £18.the most recent one was a free HD box and installation,but it was for a reconditioned box.Not really interested in changing to sky for the HD option because TBH I have not really missed the sports package and the likes of BBCHD and ITVHD I can get via freesat anyway.

It certianly does give you more options. At present it will also handle a Sky Italia card, I'm 99% sure your going to need the Sky Italia reciever that is paired with the card as well though.

Thanks Rick. I think the receiver comes with the sub anyway mate. Perhaps southern could verify this for me...

hope your not getting confused here.Aljazeera on 13e will NOT get premier league football at least not live as they lost the contract a while back.its ok for champions league,the championship and a lot of foreign stuff.Aljazeera from other sats will require a big dish

If you want Sky Italia you will need the dedicated Sky box and italia viewing card, any other receiver we sell does not come with any viewing card unless its an official card and paid for.

A bit off what is being discussed now, but thought that this might make a few thing about what is worth the money.

I was at a friends house yesterday for dinner and they have Sly with Movies, no sports, and it is costing them €60 per month. I was more than surprised and made a point to find out how much the full package would cost, the whole lot, with ESPN costs €85 per month, that is €1020 per year and that is SD. If I were going to have to pay that I would be very happy to pay for the Sly Italy package and get some better channels and the added advantage is I would be getting the 3PM kick off games in the EPL.

I really was taken aback when I was told what it was costing, when I was with Sly, a few years ago, it was €60 for the full package, was just amazed how they had sneaked the cost up.

Ian, quick question for you mate, what box d you get with the Sly It card, I mean is it a HD box? Just asking as Sly are offering a free HD box now, but as someone has pointed out they are stopping the production of their SD boxes so they most likely not got any SD ones left.

Yes the Pace HD box that is dedicated to the Sky Italia HD card or Sky SD Pace box with the SD one. Sky UK is stopping supply of SD not Italy SKY
