Hi guys! I'm wanting to re-join the Murdoch empire but before I give them a call, would I be better off getting a STB myself? I'm wanting to get Sly+ HD but I think Sly charge a fair amount for the equipment. Any advice would be greatly appreciated guys!

Hi mate they were supposed to be doing free HD receivers, there was a post about it yesterday. It might be no good for returning customers though, but well worth a try with them, just tell them you were told that you could have a free HD receiver for signing up with them, can't loss anything.

Don't recall it being mentioned, I am having a bit of BB trouble or I would search for the post mate, it was yesterday that I saw it.

I got a letter today about this.

Have had sky in the past but now with VM. They are indeed offering free sky+HD boxes. You dont have to take the HD package but you can upgrade at any time. Seems like they are preping everyone for 3DTV, as the hd boc is 3dtv compatable.

I rang and they only wanted £25 install as dish and 1 cable there. After a few mins bartering, and then saying I would stay with VM they waived the fee.

Install in 2 weeks ready for the big N3 cale blackout!!!

the only reason there offering free HD boxes is because they've stopped production of all SD boxes so no choice really.
Another sky gimmick to extract an extra tenner out of subscribers so you can recieve the full benefit
and before anyone has a pop i subscribe to the full HD pack although only for the mrs and daughter

I just phoned sly and they're offering me the sports HD pack for 46 pound a month. I have to pay 30 for installation and I get movies and sports HD free for the first month.
