As your longitude is -1.8339 you are best setting your dish up on 1 West, you could adjust the scale for the 0.8339 variance but it shouldn't make a great deal of difference.

Once you have the motor, and dish, set correctly swive the entire lot to roughly where 1 West is.

Tune your receiver to BBC World, on 1 West, a Free to Air channel with q strong signal:
11325 H 24500
Code:
http://www.lyngsat.com/1west.html
Then you just need to adjust your dish until you get a picture, once achieved then do some minor adjustments to peak the signal.

Once complete try locating the other satellites, on the arc, using your receiver.

Sometimes it's easy to get 1 West but equally sometimes it's a real pain, it takes patience and a bit of luck

I run a cable, from my receiver, to a portable TV, then watch for any sight of a picture as I gently adjust the dish.
This way I usually get it fairly quickly, if I haven't got it working within 10-15 minutes I take a short break and try again, never taken more than 2 attempts, so far

Like Mickha I never use a metre, waste of time, as if you use a portable TV you can see exactly what you are going to get. You receiver will have a built in metre of some sort so I would use it rather than watching the actual picture on the portable TV. You will only be wasting the money you pay for a metre, unless you are an installer and have a good metre then the TV is the better choice. When you have the dish tweaked and getting as good a signal quality on your receiver's metre, then you can check the picture on a few channels to see what they are like, with a metre you have to go in the house to do this.

Regards Wez

Ive spent over five hundred quid on sat meters, and still the portable TV on occasions.

Depending of what you would like to watch at home, only english channels or you would add some asian
ones( 68.5*E or PAK), a fine tuned 1.20mt dish would be fine.

68.5E is not viable for most folks in the UK as its virtually on our eastern horizon.
