Default max speed

Which ambit modem will give best speeds? because i realized its the modem which is the limiting factor.

the modem has nothing to do with speeds its all down to the mac

not technicaly true m8, i was getting 49meg on a web2100 and 43 on a 255 when you could autoserve. there is a difference in the chip

ambit is only capable for 38mb or 32mb not sure

Yeah thats what i though, the ambit can only handle 30 odd mbps. I hear some people getting full 50 and wonders which modem they use as are made with a cap. i have gone and bought the ambit 256, but now need a tutorial for its hack. the one in the sticky is for 250/255. please help. also what else do i need apart from the modem?

At the moment your going to have real issues getting online, virmin are having a shake up or is that a shake down, well they'r shaking it all around to be honest, 1st your going to need a preprogrammed spi chip to replace the one already on there, then your going to need a 50meg mac, then your gona haveto get all the settings, certificates and everything else, have fun and let us all know how you get on

Where would i get that chip from? ..i thought the firmware overwrote info on it previously? i have only found a 20mg mac for now..still searching. what about any special wires/cables? read somewhere about a jtag or something.
