Default Hyperterminal Not Responding When Pressing "p" Command

Hi Guys Having a little problem here got a max 232 Cable with (TX) (RX) (GND) (VCC) Its The One With a USB also.

My Problem is when i connect up to the hyperterminal my p option appears but when i press the p command it doesnt respond at all just continues with the downstream ect.

Cud It be i have the pin cables connected wrong

Any advice would be Great

1) use putty
2) make sure the window is highlighted

check caps lock aint on m8,
