Default haxoware settings

I have got hold of a flashed ambit 256, it has haxoware 1.1 rev 39 on it, but cant get it online.
I have been out in the car with the laptop to get some active macs from unsecured networks outside of my area, im guessing if these macs are online and in use they wil be good macs, they all come from vm connections.
on the haxoware settings menu, i have entered the frequency for my area which i got from my subbed modem, i have entered the hfc mac, bpi is enabled but i still cant connect to the net.
it aquires downstream channel but then when it gets to the upstream it just says that its ranging?the message on the log reads 'no ranging response received T3 time out'
I have spoofed my mac but still no joy, can anyone help? thanks

Where does your friend live? Are the MACs from out of your UBR (but within around a 10 mile radius)? If you are unsure, ask him/her.

Time for people to start reading threads that they've not posted on, I've seen a few threads that let people know the easiest way to back on line.

Yeah the macs are from about 4 miles away, i read that any macs starting 00 14 are now obsolete, all the original macs i was trying started with these digits and came from live wireles connections but it just kept ranging using these, the one im using now starts 00 40 and takes me past ranging but stops at establish ip connectivity? with haxoware should i be ticking the box that says force static ip?
I can appreciate that the info i need is somewhere on here and its a case of finding it but i read so many different soloutions and methods that as i noob i dont know what to beleive, thanks
