Default cable on htpc

hi guys, not sure if this is in the right place or not. im after getting a cable card in my media center (DVB-C) ive seen a couple around but not sure anout compatability isues. im using windows 7, how do u go about updateing the card for the reciever and if they are really any good. would i be able to get a cable EPG in win 7 media center.. Any help guys..??

You will need a Nagravision CAM and a ROM10/11 MOSC card. The CAM will have a unique box key which will need to be programmed onto the card in order for it to "pair" up with the CAM. I don't think WMC supports cable EPG but you can try. Your best bet is to use the 3rd party software that came with your DVB-C card as this should have a decent EPG for cable channels.

i have MOSC cards for my virmin box so no problem there, would any cam do, seen on fleebay for £37, is that a good price?.. kinda put off now with BLAKEY saying he doubts the win7 epg probably wont be supported..

what dvb-c card are you planning on using? win 7 will give you the epg if your using a floppydtv but they no longer make them.

for a cam you can use an icecrypt with joker firmware. some people report the blue zeta cam also works but its abit hit and miss with the new ones.

i dont know what i wanna use, what evers good and hopefully a good price, but wanna idealy use in win7 media center. any pointers would be ace people.. cheers..

back again. is this floppydtv any good, how much do u rekon they would cost second hand if i were to find one. is it a simple step to get it working on mce.. win7..

Why bother?? If its to use on Virmin network, surely its only gonna last a month or so til the N3 switch over.

i heard that it wasnt a deffinate that nag3 was coming out everywhere, and surely if it did it would only be a matter of time before it would be cracked
