Thumbs down Help my dish aligment is wrong ..

Hi i got my dish fitted today and it was all fine untill i decided to upgrade the image on my dreambox 500s and now it thinks 13 east is 1 west.. So all the alignments and stuff are wrong..

Is there anyway to fix this problem without having to physically get up on the roof to move stuff around??

Thanks in advance.
AJ

I don't think your dish is the problem. Have you tried reflashing the image, or another image ?

think im right in saying that you power off the box with the coax in, then power up the box and go to motor positioning and send the dish to zero and then power off the box again.

this should erase any memory the motor has.

you then set it up again.

as long as the motor is on zero when you start to scan it should be ok, what image is it anyway?

thanks for the advice G77, i managed to sort it completely .. just sent the dish to 0, then moved as far east as it went. had to manually press east or west 1 by 1 untill, i got 13E, stored that.

Then moved to 10E, waited for lock.... and so on..

Got 13E,10E,9E,7E,5E,1W.... I used to have a couple of channels on 5W too.. however now i can't get a lock.

By the looks of things the guy who installed my dish didn't have a clue and when i go west the bloody dish is looking down at the floor lol.. I think i might go and get a t&k bracket...

thanks a lot for your help..

Also wondering, would it be possible to get 7W in southeast? I have a 95 to 1m dish from Alsat

Thanks AJ

When you go to either end of the arc, say 45W or 45E, the dish will look like its pointing at the floor, it will be an offset dish, and realy looking upwards still, most probably.

7W is tricky anywhere in the UK, but easiest in the south east. It can be got on some 1m dishes but not at all or not very well on others, it depends on the quaility of the dish mainly, and how well the LNB works with the dish.

Did you post a photo of your dish setup? If not, maybe you could, then we could have a butchers at it.

Will do this evening, the dish definately looks down lol.. maybe i'm being stupid.. i'll post a pic of my setup.. but when i try and move dish to 5 or 7 west the signal doesn't change much tbh. I mean normally when moving dish I get AGC and SNR (around 90ish on 13E) also, is their is specific Freq i should be trying for 7 west?

Thanks aj

Morning sorry no pic of sat as yet, was too busy fooking around with the dish last night. Used dish pointer and managed to get 30W, 27.5W,24.5W,8W,5W, etc.. No nilesat ... Is their a specific setting (like transponder) that has strong signal? Maybe I can use?

Thanks AJ
