Default What are virmin doing really!!

Managed to get my 256 on afterf the recent bpi changes all ben working fine for the last 4 days but for some reason today it keeps dropping from 10mb to 100kbps i reboot the modem and it works for a few hours then goes off again and i have to reboot.

anybody else have this ?

im from wigan btw..

update didnt even get chance to reboot and the speed has just gone back up to 10mb :S

you asked a question and he gave you, the answer plain and simple, sorry he didnt post you a magic fix for your modem, if you had bothered doing a search you would have seen many people have been having the same problem as well, and dont bother coming back with a smart arse comment coz i aint interested

ok ive searched " macs work then go off,"macs dropping speeds","ambit dropping speeds".......


cant find anything like i said it isnt because of the latest bpi updates has its been working for 4 days and has only just started doing this

ive spoofed my nic then changed the mac and nothing stil drops down to 20kbps every 15 mins or so for a fews mins then shootd back up...

I`d put it down to network traffic m8. Or check your cabling/signal levels. Maybe you are losing speed through dodgy cable or splitters, or maybe its cos it is busy. Try it at 12 or 1 in the morning for a more accurate result.

EDIT: BTW have you checked the logs in your modem? You may be able to answer your own question, or put keyword parts of recent log entries into search, and use the search for posts rather than threads.
