Hi i was given a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 4000 by a friend and i want to watch the movies before 10pm but it asks for the pin and my friend cant remember what the pin was. Someone told me to hold down some buttons to get to the engineers menu i got this diagnostic menu up but cant find anywhere in the 10 pages that mentions anything about a pin am i doing something wrong and is there another way to do it. Can you tell me exactly which buttons do i hold down and where int he menus i find the pin. Thank you.

I think you have to lift a chip in order to reset the pin or Net ID on those boxes. The page will show the pin as **** so it's useless to you.

its very easy only a 8 leg pin its called U48 but then again you need a elvis programmer to read it have you tryed all the common pins i usually find there set to 1234
