nah blakey, if its locked in one pc moving it won't unlock it. the password is writen to the firmware on the harddrive itself

Have a read here. The second post claims that Knoppix can be used to access the drive.

ive tried to remove hard drive locks before its really difficult to do, is the drives firmware held on the controller board of the drive? if so you could get an identical hard drive and swap the controller boards over see what happens?
