It would be all down to the quality of the drivers that come with the adaptor I`d have thought...I`m so glad I got an old knacker of a "flashing" system that struggles to even run XP! My quad core hasn`t even got PS2 ports...

USB SPI Programmers should work perfect in Windows 7. Many devices work better over USB than legacy ports when using Windows Vista or Windows 7.

easy...take your cover off...look for the coin battery, pull the jumper that is near it and put it on the other 2 pins. the jumper might be red. Leave it like this for 30 seconds. Swap jumper back to the original 2 pins and restart PC. Make sure your time and date are right!
Correct settings are ECC+ECP - &378. If info jumbled is clip sat correctly? if you got v1.2 programmer then you need to short 5v for 2 sec then put jumper onto 3v. if you got v1.3 of programmer then you do not need to do this, just leave jumper set on 3v...Check power supply for correct voltagte (use ambit power supply to power programmer) really sorry pal if you know all this but just tryin to help! yeh i did the coin job and move jumper over, it still dont want to know it was set to ecc+ecp 768 in the 1st place, i should of left it.
it turns on fine, but i get no screen and it just long beeps. ive got the 1.3 progger, and worst of all ive found the problem, after trying to program with an xp pc, and still no joy i found problem to be pin snapped off in the socsis clip where the wire clips on, i only notice when i pulled the wire off by accident. but did't check this 1st as it was powering up the modem and i thought it was a win7 problem. oh well now i got a dead pc, hopefully can be brought back to life |

Ok...disconnect everything from PC leaving just mouse kb and monitor connected. Short out the CMOS jumper again (what I said earlier) but dont power on. Ensure your mains cable is plugged in (dont switch on, we need a good earth) to prevent static discharge. Then press the white clips at the end of your memory sticks to remove them. Carefully note the way they went in, and blow all dust out of the memory ports/motherboard. Then refit one stick at a time (if you got more than 1) trying to power up each time. What you are doing is reseating your RAM. Do the same with your graphics card and any other cards you may have in your system.
If your system is bricked, (which I very much doubt) then port settings wouldnt do this, and in any case, if you have shorted out the correct jumper, it will reset everything (putting them port settings right) EDIT: Don`t forget to put your jumper back to where it should be!
