Default spi programmer install on win7 problem

i updated my pc to win7 a while back and aint really used it as i mostly use my laptop, but ive got a 256 to flash and remembered i need to install my spi programmer but, i cant seem to get it to install or detect the device.

i was just wondering if anyone has had this problem and if so how did they rectify it thanks fnr3master

It's probably Windows 7 that isn't compatible with the software. You could try running it with XP SP3 or 98/ME compatibility. Also, try running it as administrator as certain programs don't function correctly unless they are ran as the administrator.

If you have enough RAM, try the XP mode that comes with Win7. If I recall, the driver worked with Vista, so cannot see why it wouldn`t work with Win7. Same kernel(ish). BTW the programmer isn`t plug and play, so install the driver without it connected. If you have lost the docs that tell you how (same principles for win7 I would have thought), I have made a backup of my SPI disk at h**p://www.m*gaupload.c*m/?d=PYVTC8GR
