It's probably Windows 7 that isn't compatible with the software. You could try running it with XP SP3 or 98/ME compatibility. Also, try running it as administrator as certain programs don't function correctly unless they are ran as the administrator.

If you have enough RAM, try the XP mode that comes with Win7. If I recall, the driver worked with Vista, so cannot see why it wouldn`t work with Win7. Same kernel(ish). BTW the programmer isn`t plug and play, so install the driver without it connected. If you have lost the docs that tell you how (same principles for win7 I would have thought), I have made a backup of my SPI disk at h**p://www.m*gaupload.c*m/?d=PYVTC8GR

OK click start, type "device manager" select it, then right click the very top item (mine is matty-pc) and add legacy device. Then click next, then install software manually then follow steps as for XP...
7. Select Sound, video and game controllers, and click Next to continue. 8. Select Have Disk and browse to the location of the driver on your system. The 9. Select win2000.inf and click Open to continue. 10. Click OK to install the selected driver. 11. Click Continue Anyway when the Software Installation warning appears. 12. Select SPI Programmer and click Next to continue. 13. Click Next to install the driver. 14. Click Continue Anyway when the Hardware Installation warning appears. 15. Click Finish in the Completing the Add Hardware Wizard window. Reboot your system. |
