Default Newbie needs help

Hi everyone.
My pace box with a funcard5 box just went down, so i thought i`d have a go at redoing it myself.
I have just bought a phoenix programmer a usb lead and an rs232 male to female 9pin extention lead.
This came with a cd with lots of software with it.
I have my bk and ird number and used bigmaq toolbar to get latest keys.
I entered all these and saved the file.
Now any of the programs that i try do do anything with says no programmer.
I`ve tried multiprog and nagraedit.
Am i doing anything right.
I did say i was a novice didn`t i.
Any help would be apprieciated, as i`ve been searching forums and reading tutorials for hours, but if i can`t communicate with the card them i`m not going to get very far am i.
Thanks John

MOSCs are probably easier to program for some people.

Ok.
I origonally bought a £10 25pin funcard programmer and tried everything to get it to work. run as administrator, install nt drivers etc etc but always got no device found at lpt1
I then sent this back and replaced it with this. I wondered why he wanted to sell me a rom11 card too.

What is a mosc card and how easy is it to do.
I have my ird and bk numbers if thats any good.
Thanks John

Where did you buy it from? Can you post an image of it? A MOSC (Modified Original Smart Card) is the original card you get when you subscribe. These cards can be modified in such a way that you are able to use them to receive premium cable channels (Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Bravo etc)...... for free .

I bought the box with the card already in it. It is a fun5 card but i have found a mosc rom 11 card on ebay.
Is this what i should be buying.
I dont understand what you mean can i post an image of it cos i can`t read it with the phoenix can i.
I had all the premium channels until it went off.
Thats why i bought the programmer.
So is the programmer no good and do i need a funcard programmer or do i need one of them rom 11 cards with this phoenix programmer.
Thanks

Sorry mate, I meant can you post an image of the programmer you have. The programmer you have (if it's a Phoenix) will work fine with the ROM11 card.
