I use an old FTA101 box (similar to Starview) with NTL in the Luton area.

Last night I lost all my channels - including the free ones.

Is this the Nagra 3 update I have read about on the web?

Is there anyting I can do? Is it worth deleting all channels and rescanning?

OK I deleted all my channels on my FTA101 and did a full rescan.

Got loads of channels back - so I thought I was OK.

Choosing free channels seem to be fine eg. BBC1, BBC2 etc.

However, as soon as I chose a non free channel eg. Dave, Boomerang etc my box locked up (froze). I couldn't even retune to the free channels.

I then had to delete all the channels again and rescanned. I have now deleted all the non-free channels and seem to be OK with the free ones. This will have to do for now.

Does anyone know what this Crypt file is here :-

Nagra 3 Coming Soon -

..I have updated my FTA101 with bin files in the past but I don't know if this file is correct for my box?

Did you get your channels back or are you still without them? Someone has asked me what the situation is and I guess if anyone is likely to know, then it's you as you're from the same area.

No I'm afraid I did not get my channels back.

The Free ones work but as soon as I touch the Non Free ones the box starts freezing.

I had another go at deleting all the channels again this afternoon and doing a full scan - but same result. I am confused - is this the Nagra update or just some weird problem in the Herts/Beds area?

I have not done a Factory Reset yet as I am a bit nervous about screwing up the box. At the moment I can get Cbeebies which keeps my youngest happy!

Could be that a full factory reset/delete everything/full power scan is your only answer unfortunately. It does mean that you will have to re-sort your favourites but hopefully it should all come back ok. The way I see it, if you have nothing now then you have nothing to lose.

...yes I am in Hertford with my prehistoric FTA101 box which has served me well for the last 5 years or so.

I can only get the free channels at the moment. If I pluck up courage I may try the Factory reset tomorrow.

I really would like to know if this is the Nagra update death knell for the box?
