Default Satellite dishes

Hello to everyone, I'm new to the site and totally confused already lol.

I am looking for a bit of advice please. We have just moved into a new house and brought our Sky equipment, minus the dish with us. We also still have a live account with them.

What I want to know is: Is it cheap enough to buy a dish, plus accessories from a store and fit it ourselves, also, will we still get the range of channels that we got before we moved. Sky has quoted me £60 for installation.

Also, I really dislike Sky but I know nothing about these freesat (or something like that) boxes that can be bought. Basically all that we watch is Sky News, Dave and Living TV. We also love the pause and rewind facility. So if there is anybody on here that knows of any other way that we can get the above without being with Sky or any other infuriating company, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks in advance as I don’t know when I will get on again due to a 10 month old child.

Regards

Maisey

Fitting a sky dish is easy enough if you have basic DIY skills. Range of channels really depends on what you subscribe to with sky, or not as the case may be.

You can get the channel lineups of the Freesat and Sky Website. Your sky box with no card will still recieve the Freesat Channels. If you still have you sky card and don't subscribe anymore you will also get a couple of others like Sky3 and Fiver etc.

To be honest, time you have faffed about yourself buying all the stuff you need, and the time taken to actually do it, £60 is very good value. (assuming they do the job properly of course
