Heya.
ok so end of nov my modem last went off - but I was off on holiday the next day so just left it. It had been running fine for eons before then...so had been a while since had need to mess with it Now thought I'd try to get it running other night. It is an Ambit 200 running Sigma. AFAIK these modems are (or at least were) unable to run haxorware. Now in Nov my tftp was 10.137.103.3 and was using a config L980632d1f6adeee6.cm On using DHCP Sniffer, it finds macs listing tftps 10.37.32.1 and 10.37.36.1 so I presume either of these 2 would be correct for my tftp Now the first thing I do usually when trying to get my mac working in the past is to clone my own subbed modem as I know it obv is valid......which happens to be a 0014 mac. So I updated the tftp and mac info, but it would not work. I then noticed that in the logs regardless of what I had my config file set to it would always list in the log about loading an old 250-bund03 config file....so I used ambit tool.....trying leaving the box empty...tho it would not write properly then....and then settled with unreg.cm which I think must be the correct one to choose if not trying to force? The box will boot up and connect...for a matter of seconds and google can load etc...but then will go in constant cycle of rebooting with Code:
2010-02-08 03:37:17 3-Critical 0x04E33A10 Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 timeout 2010-02-08 03:36:51 7-Information 0x848E0009 M569.1 Standby mode disabled 2010-02-08 03:36:51 7-Information 0x848E0004 I500.0 Registration Completed 2010-02-08 03:36:50 4-Error 0x041D2C1C Configuration File CVC Validation Failure 2010-02-08 03:36:50 7-Information 0x848E0001 D507.0 Retrieved Time....... SUCCESS 2010-02-08 03:36:50 3-Critical 0x045A8148 TLV-11 - Illegal Set operation failed 2010-02-08 03:36:50 7-Information 0x848E0002 D509.0 Retrieved TFTP Config unreg.cm SUCCESS 2010-02-08 03:36:49 7-Information 0x848E0003 D511.0 Retrieved DHCP .......... SUCCESS I then did some reading and found that people recommend enabling BPI both versions 1 and 1.1? I tried both with telnet but it wont even connect at all with BPI enabled? Please anyone any ideas what I am doing wrong? I live in the teesside/hartlepool area. Also I read that people have problems with 0014 macs? Does this mean that even though I know my own 0014 mac here is valid I will never get a 14 address to work so cant 'test with my subbed' any more? I did find a 0002 mac to try out too while scanning - but had same issues with it constant rebooting? hope you guys can help edit - oh and forgot to add - I also read people suggesting to change the frequency...but again on doing that it would not connect. In effect I lost/forgot all my settings, so wiped all and redid the settings in ambit tool and eventually got back to where I was before ( 402750000, annex_a, cm_tuner 14, cm_annex 3 fix, Set Mac Addresses, Override TFTP cfg, Disable BPI Last edited by Midnight Tboy; 09-02-10 at 02:26 PM. |

so I have just tried a 0002 mac. using tftp 10.37.32.1
I get the same thing happening - constant rebooting but initially connects and active. If I then do this.. cd /n/d enable bpi true bpi_version 1 write Then on connecting I get cable modem status offline but everything else passes and the log shows Code:
2010-02-09 15:42:41 3-Critical 0x04E33A10 Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 timeout 2010-02-09 15:42:15 7-Information 0x848E0001 D507.0 Retrieved Time....... SUCCESS 1970-01-01 00:00:08 7-Information 0x848E0006 T501.0 Acquired Downstream (331000000 Hz)........ SUCCESS any help please? Also oddly...this time I did another mac scan...but this time dhcpsniffer listed my OWN mac first...and it said tftp of 10.137.103.3...that being the old tftp that I used to use? That confuses me - in the past I'm sure that dhcpsniffer used to only ever show one tftp which was the one that were connected to - so dont know which to use now |

ok so this time I tried
cd /n/d enable bpi true bpi_version 0 write now this time I get Code:
2010-02-09 15:58:32 3-Critical 0x04E33A10 Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Unicast Maintenance opportunities received - T4 timeout 2010-02-09 15:58:06 4-Error 0x041D2C1C Configuration File CVC Validation Failure 2010-02-09 15:58:06 7-Information 0x848E0001 D507.0 Retrieved Time....... SUCCESS 1970-01-01 00:00:06 7-Information 0x848E0006 T501.0 Acquired Downstream (331000000 Hz)........ SUCCESS Again everything goes through but modem still says Offline. 2010-02-09 15:58:06 4-Error 0x041D2C1C Configuration File CVC Validation Failure does that mean I need to do something about that config file? I dont understand how to remove the configuration in Sigma. Obviously I can (and have) left it blank on the 1337 page....but using ambit configurator gives error messages if leave that field empty and Write |

this time i've tried the same.....
cd /n/d enable bpi true bpi_version 0 write but this time beforehand using ambit tool - set the config to cmreg-ntlhm120-rts22.cm out of curiosity Code:

while hoping for a reply with suggestions, I've set dhcpsniffer on the go looking for some more.
I have noticed, that among the scrambled configs (not bruteforcing btw)...that it shows up .cm config file for my own individual modem. Does that mean I could potentially use ambit tool to write that config file in and I could still get my 0014 subbed mac to work? But of course anyway I still need to find how to get it working with all the other macs ![]() spent hours on this including up till 5am the other night - now driving me potty |

could be an option - though on reading I see loads of recent posts along lines of "looks like 90% of us have gone off now" and the likes so doesnt sound too encouraging lol.
What is interesting though, while leaving dhcpsniffer running.... For the gateway it keeps showing a few different results.... the old old 10.137.103.3 that I used to be on until modem last went off end of november when I didnt bother getting round to looking at it 10.37.32.1 10.37.36.1 and 10.100.196.1 i'm presuming my true tftp is the first one....but could have sworn from memory as been a while, that generally dhcpsniffer would only give 1 result for tftp - so trying to remember how on earth to confirm exactly which tftp I'm on lol. I've tried all of them and each time - with bpi off they go to connected and operational but then go to constant reboot and with bpi turned on - they go through process but just says Offline on the status page and base line privacy empty |

well thought I was perhaps getting somewhere....after finding out thanks to Robbie that you can no longer use bruteforce with dhcpsniffer without having to trade etc.
So went to looking at some old old macs I had and I was getting registration failure messages.... Messed about with it a few times in both telnet for bpi settings, and reconfiguring with the ambit tool - but now it seems to be that every time I'm connecting it back up I'm getting Upstream Ranging.....In Progress and it's timing out from there. Can't understand why its now started halting at that point......unless after the zillion times of unscrewing the vm cable the box has been worn out. perhaps Subbed box works in same cable no problem so its not the cable.... Hope to get hold of some valid macs soon to have a retry with them...but failing that - might get a 255 with haxor on it......I take it you have to disconnect the cable each time make a change with that one too? |

hi m8 i have the exactly same problem as you and have loads of working macs , it's not down to mac and i too have enabled bpi and disabled bpi with no luck. just left it at the side for now and look at posts on forums and see there is no answer to the 200 all you get told is enable bpi, but i have found that to be worse. i have no answer at moment but if i get mine back on line i'll let you know. oh and im using a 250 a moment as they are less of a pain at the moment
