Got ip but can't surf net...bpi/docsis settings pls??

Hi peeps, I’m having real trouble working out what doscis version and bpi setting my modem needs. Up until recently it worked flawlessly. Now I can only get an ip address but I can’t surf the net. It's an ambit 200 with sigma 1.25 Sometimes I get my home page or a different web page up then the page hangs whilst the connection drops and modem reboots and it starts all over again. If I don’t try accessing the net the modem doesn’t reboot and the connection does not drop. But what’s the point of an ip address if you can’t surf. Any help or insight on this appreciated...thanks

depends wot mac u usin but try docsis 1.0

if the ip is 81.107 suming then thats the activation ip and you wont be able to surf...try a diff mac and with each mac try all the diff bpi settings...thats how i got mine back up....

No its a vaild ip...I get my msn home page and the bbc website and yahoo but it take forever to load.



The mac is good....I've been using it for months....and I can connect but cant surf the web

What was your bpi setting when your's went down and what did you change it to to get it back up?

How do I check what docsis it is currently on? Also... how do I change it to docsis 1.0?
