you need a null modem cable as well as the usb to serial adaptor
if you have those cables connected then you need to look in device manager and check that the usb adaptor is connected to one of ports 1,2,3 or 4 if you can't see the adaptor then it may need a driver installing for it to run |

I completely forgot about USB/serial issues, sorry dude. Should have thought to mention it. It sounds like you're the same as me for updating and Voxering. I have an old PC that doesn't even have a case for it, all the bits are in a cardboard box, no USB's or CD-ROM, but it does have a serial connection and an internet connection so it's sorted.
I hope you get yours sussed too.

Thanks mate!
any idea why the download program wouldn't let me view a CDF file i downloaded? pressed browse, and took the .txt from the end of the file and replaced int with .CDF still wouldn't let me browse to it, that had me stumped

The best way to do it is to use Voxer, available through here. It's the last item in the list. It's fairly straight forward once you get it open. Have a look and hopefully it will make some sort of sense.

![]() Nah, only kidding, just hope I've helped you get sorted. Sorting channels manually is quite therapeutic after a while. It's not that difficult. If you get stuck with anything give me a PM and I'll help if I can. Up the Reds. ![]()

Now then guys!
i went through the painstaking method of organizing all of my channels to how i want them. Then last week, my box went off again. Before i did another scan, i made sure that i downloaded the CDF file that i had spent a while configuring, to my PC, so that after i scanned for the channels again, i could just get them all back in the same order as before ![]() I had working channels again after i did a reset/channel scan. However, when i loaded my CDF back onto my box, it was in the same state it was before i rescanned, is this because the CDF contains frequency data relating to each of the channels and they have all been shifted about? how do i get the channels back in the order i want, without doing it all by hand again : / i said before i've had trouble downloading CDF files from here and changing the extension : / thats why i simply downloaded mine to my PC in the hope that this would work once i rescanned my box! how wrong was i!!!! ![]() any help appreciated once again Paul |
