My sincere apologies for all the disruption over the past 24 hours - I tried to merge a new forum into Techwatch, but unfortunately the process was a complete cock up and damaged the TW forums database.
I did revert back to a backup taken on Saturday night and thought everything would have been fine, excepting for losing a lot of posts from Sunday. However, it turned out the restore was incomplete and had left a chuck of the forum database missing. While the forums appeared to be running fine, it seemed far safer to simple revert back to Sat night's backup and have a completely fine and working forum - than risk running the rest of the week on an incomplete database and find significant parts of the forum were not working properly - and then having to revert back to Sat's backup anyway. Everything should be fine and sorted now - the database is recovered to the backup and all appears to be fine, and there should be no more disruption. Apologies again for the lost of Sunday's and this morning's posts, but I figure better to lose a little now, than risk losing a lot later. |
