my dear old mother once got ripped off by a trader a few years ago, he sold her an NTL box at way over the going price and it came with a standard fun card.
this fun card was loacked and every time the keys changed the trader was charging her £35 to change the keys, at one time it was more expensive than a drug habit. i got her a Dbox2 and everything has been running fine for the last years or so. now i want to revive this old NTL box, i have so far learned that it is a 2000 box and the fun card inside is locked. To get this unlocked one of my mates said he needs the IRD an BoxKey, i dont know what these are and how would i got about getting them, i mate does have a programmer but his knowledge is very limited as well so now i have an overpriced peice of **** that is useless to me unless i can get the details. can anyone help get IRD and BoxKey numbers for me. ![]() |

The IRD you can get from the Engineers menu, I'm not sure if the 2000 BK's might be on the database - http://webzoom.freewebs.com/bigmaq/BK Database.zip

You are now beyond my experience of Cable boxes.
I might be able to read the card, I used to have some unlocking software from several years ago when satellite cards were locked. Try PM'ing AMO if he's still around, he has some experience with cable boxes. |

Send the files to me (Flash, int ee and ext ee) and I'll see if I can read them. I normally use picbinedit but there are so many different settings it's sometimes difficult to get the right one

The keys are usually in the int ee file, extracting this should only overwrite the flash which can be put back - but there is always a risk.
