Smile Help with Dragon Cam and 3.80

Hi, I would welcome any advice on a Dragon Cam 4.1 I just received. It was meant to have Pred 3.80 pre loaded on the cam but the box would not see anything (inserted and removed a few times and left on for a while), in the end I updated from the loader card again, this worked but unfortunately it is version 3.25. I have sent the loader card back to seller who says they will install the file on the loader also, which I hope will work.

Is there anything I can manually input into this cam with 3.25 that will work? I can't seem to match any of the debug options with anything up to date on the net. Any help would be great, if I have to wait for the card so be it (don't want to have to get a programmer yet!)

Thanks

There's not a lot you can do with Predator 3.25 loaded, which channels are you trying to view?
There is very little open, at the minute, but check Digi TV, 1W, as some Predator 3.25 files were updated for the older dragon cams and can open Digi TV.

Hi, thanks for the reply, viewing anything would be good as a tester, I have read about hexidecimal and decimal and the conversion and where to enter i just don't have a clue which option 1w is under, in the debug menu, I have no ohlaladin, i read your post in 2006 with some detail on the manual updating! Many Thanks

Ohlaladin refers to Nagra 2, the encryption currently being used by Digi TV, but not for much longer.
If the file has not already been amemded then you can't enter them manually, you need to load a new predator file, which means using a Cas 3 or a card programmer and loader card.
Check as it might be an updated file.

No I don't have the option for Nagra2 then, is it worth getting a card programmer for these? theres a few on ebay but if they are all changing and won't give me anything much in the future I am not going to waste any more dosh!

Digi TV could be gone in a week, but it could take longer, the 2 film channels have already switched to N3 encryption.
I can't advise you on what to buy, especially as you haven't listed your current equipment, but at the moment it might be worth waiting to see what's next.

With a good size motorized dish you should always have a few channels to watch, and a few feeds.
