Default sat finder

hi,
i have an cpc farnell sat finder, it has an audible beep and number display and 2 frequencies at 950mhz and 1800mhz.how does this actually work ?. tje manual is not helpful at all :-(

Powered by the satellite receiver it will peak as it detects a carrier/signal. Maybe you could upload an image of the meter or post the make and model.

You will need to have a patch lead. You connect the metre to the end of the coax from your receiver, MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OF TO THE RECEIVER BEFORE YOU EVER DO ANYTHING WITH THE CABLE. Next you connect one end of the patch cable to the metre and the other to the LNB. NOW AND ONLY NOW turn the power to the receiver back on. Set your receiver to a channel which should have a good signal. You will now need to search for the satellite you are after by moving your dish in small movements and when you are near it your metre will bleep and then you will need fine tune the dish till you get the highest number up on the metre.

i dont know what number it goes upto, i want to setup for 28.2e so is that 900 or 1800mhz ?...
