hi m8,
the tm is a easy stb to set-up and patch, i have never used a v-box
but i have a mate who uses that way to drive a 36v motor and he
set the v-box up with the possitioner numbers:- ie:no:-19 for 19e
and 16 for 16e etc: all his possitioner numbers are his stored sat possitions
and it works first class, never misses a target. there are video files
on the forum, how to patch/enter keys etc: they are a must for a new user
they show you everything you need to programming the tm receiver
so as soon as you can download them.

Thanks for advice Clipper.
I missed the postie today so have to collect it from local DHL depot.
This vbox business is a bit confusing as I have never seen one let alone set one up,it will be used with a 1.2 ch mstr and 18" jack.
Looking forward to getting my new toy -John

from what i have seen they are no more difficult to set than a stb
and they will certainly drive a 1.2 chn master dish,
i am sure if you have any problems one of the members will
know how to. and i will ask my mate for tips etc:

Ok,now have my new toy installed, but not fully setup yet, working on 13e and dish limits etc all set.
Here is a silly question, how do you set date and time on these boxes, can set time but unable to set date as cannot change the month or year, have tried every button on the remote, but it has me stumped,it says on the bottom left of the menu screen to use up & down buttons to change month but don't seem to have these on the remote, when I get this sorted I will be brave and go for the patch-John

The receiver should get the time from the data stream of the channel being viewed, not sure if there is a manual setting on those.

hi john,
is the remote like all sat remote's ie: a centre set-up
ok with the vol buttons either side and chn up and down buttons
top and bottom of ok, these sound like the one's they are saying to use.
it's difficult without seeing the remote. the patching is easy when you
can download the video files from here you will patch no problems.

Hi Clipper, thanks for being so patient with me.
Yes the remote is as you say,the bottom is rounded off and not square.
In the menu it is showing the incorrect date,I can move around the month that is onscreen but cannot change month or year.
The video tutorial on patching was excellent and very helpful, the author deserves a pat on the back, now all patched up,but only showing multi at the moment,so assume new keys are reqd for the others.
Getting there slowly
