I would say you bought a clone mate, best advice would be to get your money back. The whole gobbins of the clones is rubbish so getting a tuner would not be that good an idea as you would still be left with a cr&p box.

When you say no tuner, do you literally mean there is no tuner fitted or are you getting a message saying no tuner?

If it is a message it just means that you have not turned the tuner on and you need to go into the setup and sat configuration.

erm.. too late now unfortunately.. bought the box for £55 without a tuner at all. bootloader is 70 or 72 apparently..

got a tuner from linuxsat for £32.50 for box for £87.50 is not bad even if it is a clone

why is every one again clones so much, is it not possible to upload bootloader via hardware method?

thanks aj

It is not good if it has only got the 70 boot loader mate, hope it all goes well for you. Did you enquire why there was not tuner in the box?

Regards Wez

o btw, just wondering why do u say i should get my money back? Is their some problem with the box as such. All i want it to do is run diseq and cccam, no need for fancy images or any fancy functionality

thanks aj

For the price you paid, you have a good starter box.

The reason why clones are not liked by many is that the software is evolving all the time. Dream Multimedia release a new beta image virtually every day with a new front processor upgrade every few weeks. Non-genuine boxes cannot run new software unless someone writes and releases new software for the clone hardware.

Ok some say that the software they have with front processor version 70 or 72 is fine. The point is that DMM and other image compilers don't issue new software for fun. Each new release eliminates bugs and new video and audio codecs are introduced to improve the system.

Anyway, you have bought yourself a Dreambox 800 and it may be a clone so just set it up and enjoy it.
