Do you print your digital pictures at home? if so, what kind of photo printer do you use?

I use a Canon Pixma iP5000 - bought it on the grounds that it was one of the more expensive photo printers in the shop, so I presumed it should be pretty good quality.

Unfortunately it's not been a great machine - we learned early on you have to use really top quality photo paper for a start, but even still, sometimes the colours are just plain wrong or fuzzy.

Overall, I don't think the Canon Pixma is something I'd recommend with the current experience - my moth-in-law has a cheap Epson that prints far better quality ie more photo-real pictures.

I'm not sure of the specific model of mine, but I know that it is a Kodak. You just plug the phone into a port on top of the printer and print off the pictures. It works pretty well.

My printer COULD print my photos, but I hate having to replace the ink cartridges so often. And the quality isn't as good as getting it printed at a photo kiosk.

I use the canon pixma IP6700 and have been very pleased by the resuls. I have found the the canon papers do seem to get the best out of the printer.Although i would like to add that i haven't tried all brands.

I also use the Kodak 1400 dye sub printer for larger prints. I do like the Kodak as the results are more lab like in there feel and quality. ie they are dry and laminated when finished. Also it makes costing the prints easier as i know 1 pack will give me exactly 50 prints.

If your just looking to print 6 x 4 inch prints, then there are some good little Dye Sub printers out there.

Talking Re: Print at Home?

Hi, I use a EPSOM stylus PHOTO RX700 and it is brilliant no problems with it whatsoever, it also scans and copies, it will print to Cd's also, print from negatives and slides . Also you do not have to renew all ink colours at the same time you just renew as one colour runs out. You can still get them re- furbished from Epsom, or look on EBay.I promise, you will not be disapointed. Regards, Totem2.
