Well it doesnt snipe it for you, but it does give you an automatic bid eg: If Martin bid £40, and someone else bid/sniped £25 at the max, martin would have bought it for £26, regardless of whether he used a sniper/ a manual snipe

Its LIKE using an automated sniper for when you're not there, however if you just put your maximum you're prepared to pay for the dish, then you know that you may lose the item but you havent bid too much

You know, you COULD have emailed the seller and offered some more? And pay for their final value fees as well and you MAY have been able to have bought it.

Also, the seller would get a big fat NEG from the rightful buyer if they agreed. That's not a nice thing to do at all.

Yes at the end of the day the highest bidder always wins, but sniping is about not pushing the price up, by keep bidding against someone. Because what happens sometimes is that you put your max into ebay, and someone will force the price up to it, whereas if you lie low until the last 7 seconds or so, they don't get the chance.

I suppose if youre at the PC at the time, you could manually put your highest at 12 seconds to. Ive done this before

Yep, a manual snipe is fun, but risky. I have done one of those once, but couldn't stand the tension.
