Default dish positioning/pointing question

Hoping someone could give me the benefit of their knowledge with this pic.

I'm going to set up a powered dish at more or less the exact spot shown here. Want to be able to get right round to 45 deg east which I have been told is about the limit from the UK.

Can someone give me their opinion as to whether the next house along you see the line intersecting would be close enough to block the line of site to the dish?
Going by the scale on the pic it;s about 15 mtr away. The dish will be on the flat roof of a 1 story extension.

I know it might be totally impossible to answer from just a pic....but just maybe it isn't!

I's appreciate any opinions

Hi it should be OK if you place the dish down the garden a bit, presuming that line is to 45E. From the pic I would say that about 10 mtrs from the house would be OK, but it is quite difficult to say for sure.

Regards Wez

Thanks for that Wez!
That is a line to 45 deg.

And the next house is indeed more than ten mtrs away.
I'll give it a go there as I think it would be a bit of a pain in the neck with the kids etc. to stick it in the garden

Cheers!

That exact spot will not be OK, as half the dish will be looking be looking straight at your own wall.

You need to put it above the gutter, or further away from the house, mounted on the wall of the extention, but with the pole above the flat roof. Whether the house in the distance gets in the way, for mounting above the flat roof, will depend on how high the roof in the distance is above the height of the dish.

Above the gutter, will work, definitely.
