hi ive got sky plus box and dish can i use a second standard sky box with the sky plus dish

As long as the dish has a Quad LNB, yes. Just run a new cable from the dish to the reciever. If it hasn't got a Quad LNB they are easy enough to change yourself.

theres a sky plus box and dish the second box is not skyplus but will it still work

Yes you just need to run a new cable from the LNB to the second box and it will get you all the FTA channels from Astra 2.
