Default Setup basics

Hi,

With the impending roll out of Nag3 on Virmin it's time to move on. I've already ordered a dreambox DM800 but i'm wondering should i go for a motorised dish?.

I basically want to watch the SPL games and from what i can gather there are different countries that beam the matches live. Would a motorised dish pick these up or is it just overkill?.

I thought that i would buy the equipment first then have a play but as i've said i'm not sure on the dish. Any help would be much apprecaited, as to the best way to proceed.

I would definitely recommend a motorised dish, gives you the best scope and there's more out there than just soccer

Thanks for the quick reply Lincsat, would it be possible with a motorised dish to pick up things like S*tanta Australia? I've heard they show all Celtic games. Also does the size of the dish make a huge difference?

You will not get any channels aimed at Australia or USA as they are over the horizon. If you trawl through the lyngsat.com satellite listings and footprint maps, you will get an idea.

Generally for the UK an 80cm to 1m dish is sufficient, a larger dish will help if looking for certain Arabic satellites.

No chance mate it is no free anywhere, be a bit stupid for them to have any of their broadcasts free, they are in it for the money after all. Polsat show the SPL games, but you would need to get someone to sort it out for you in Poland, not heard of any Polsat cards for sale in the uk, I might well be wrong. Have a look here and you will see where the games are going to be shown *** L.J.s LIVE Sport on Satellite TV. Live Soccer on TV. Live Football on Saetllite TV.

Have you look at it, it is not there mate, have a look here Intelsat 907 (27.5°W) - frequencies - KingOfSat

The only sats where Kingofsat has Setanta listed are here Search Results for - KingOfSat and you have no chance of getting that bird and if you look it is encrypted in conax.

Its fta in C-band on W2A at 10E. Mpeg 4 and DVB-S2.

Dish size of something around 1.5m -2m would give you a reasonable chance at it.

Of course theres no guarantee it will stay fta
