Hi can anyone help with setting up the dbox2 to watch films/music with the dbox2 movie player/audio player.

dbox2 and pc are set-up with crossover cable.

This will help save tons of burnt disc to play in dvd player.

Got it set-up to play mp3`s with the dbox just need some help with playing video files with the vlc if anyone can help..

This is what you need M8, I followed this and it works pretty good with most xvid's I throw at it. Sometimes has a sync or stuttering problem if the PC gets busy - a reboot of PC and D-Box usually cures it.
