I have just come across a new problem. For some reason I am unable to pick up a signal from the 8 west sat. Should I be able to pick up a signal with an 80cm dish.

Thanx

What transponder are you looking at for 8w ? An 80cm should be ok, but Telecom 2D is inclined so wobbles on it's orbit. So it's elevation is always changing.

Try using 11703H on Atlantic Bird 4 to line up on.

No joy, although that transponder isnt listed in my azbox on 7w. I am unable to get anything from 4w,7w,8w although I can pick up 12.5w, 14.8w,15w, 18w, 22w,30w. If I try and move the dish will it knock out all the sats.

You won't get 4w or 7w on a 60cm dish and it's possible that it's too small even for 8w.

A mistype earlier, that transponder is on AB2 at 8w, not AB4A on 7w, sorry for the confusion.

Would have thought 60cm would be OK for 8W,

I replied to this thread last night but the forum went down, but basically, try this tp- 11106H 6667 3/4

The dish has been upgraded to an 80cm dish , 60cm in the tip. So is 80cm too small too . If not could it be the angle of the dish. I have just done a scan all frequecies with azbox on 4w and picked up 4 channels , 1 of which is showing cheltenham, if I can pick this up this why cant I pick up any of the others. Sorry for all the questions but totaly new to this game and knowledge is very limited.

Not all transponders are of equal strength. Yes 80cm is OK for some 8W, I'm sure.

Yeah you should get quite a bit on 8w with an 80cm. 4w is very weak for us in the UK, 7w even weaker.
