Thing is though many people fall for it.Apparently, Im owed millions of US dollars,won many international and email lotteries, Ive registered with the HMRC since I was 10 years old(and owed a rebate),I am registered with many local and international banks who keep having daily security problems. I can also apparently get free flights to the USA and Hong Kong

Joking aside, for the 98% of people who discard these emails, there are the 2% who will think that they may actually get something and wire lots of money over.

There was an article quite a while back, where a woman paid scammers for many years, in the hopes of getting something more in return. She sent thousands of pounds to the scammers and never got that back(obviously)

The scamming only stopped when she died

Email is very cheap/free so a worthy investment for scammers
