That makes no sense, all the sponsorship before the programs are selling something.

I'm not to sure about what he is on about there. All the sponsorship type ad's have been for products, loads for computer games, especially before Sci-Fi programmes.

Commercial sponsorship has always been about advertising, plain and simple. If businesses didn't produce revenue as a result, they would spend the money elsewhere.
