Hi,

can someone help me work out which is best to buy for flashing proceedure of Ambit 256.

Could I use this?
USBtinyISP
ww - ladyada.net/make/usbtinyisp/

or would I have to buy the clip and the spi programmer?

any other tips would be great!

clip/programmer dude, or just programmer if you can solder

get urself a usb jtagnt, it will flash the 256 in around 10 secs, and various modems in around 30 secs.

No mate thats for old Ambit 120-200 by looks of it. IMHO simplest solution for you is the SPI programmer. Just search spi programmer on ebay

so I'll need both -

Soic clip - ebay item# 110490672806
SPI Progger - ebay item# 110494565310

is this correct? obviously need kit, which I got from another site - UGM_E08C013_Toolkit_v1.0 - includes - Bootloader, Toolkit etc

once I have these items/tools I would be ready to increase up to 30M? or even 50M? or not possible to 50 due to the modem?

No mate. Forget the E08C013 toolkit. It is for a 256, yes. All legit 256 MAC addresses (they begin 00:14) have gone to docsis 1.1 and the toolkit has problems with the certificates. You need a good 2mb dump of Hax and a docsis 1.0 mac. Look for ones starting 00:02, 00:04, 00:08.

Loads of info on this all over the forum m8. Have a good search
