Hi Everyone.
First off, let me say that your forum has been really helpfull. I'm trying to get a hold of how to use my receiver to the max. I live in an area in Slovakia were it's the ONLY option if I want TV with English. I have an "IllusionSat M3" digital receiver, which I can only find a Spanish manual for. Anyhow, I had a Slovak guy come to the house and install the dish and receiver. Then he hooked his laptop up and loaded a bunch of files into it. (before he did this, it only picked up advertising channels). This guy is not around much for support. (he was paid, did his job, left) There is a program on there for incryption codes: "VECTRA 2.31" (i think) And a CAM program "Multi cam 2" or something. Well, I sort of figured out how to add the codes in Vectra, but vectra doesnt allow me to add new codes for newly found channels. I can pan thru each encryption type and each id type, but it won't let me add new IDs (such as "Viaccess"-type and "TPS-007C00" the ID I also managed to somehow DELETE or REMOVE the CAM program (firmware? patch?) from my receiver. I did this while trying to get BBC PRIME back. Well, now I lost the TPS stuff too. So, how do I load a new CAM software (firmware?) into the receiver? How do I "load" codes in rather than type them in manually? I found a loader or something on the Illusionsat's website. BUT I ONLY KNOW HALF OF WHAT IM DOING. I don't know how to load patches or codes. I don't know how to put a new cam program in the receiver. I don't know what cable to use, as my comp doesnt have this kind of port to plug into, I think. Any advice is appreciated. Thanx. |

I don't think I have this "DB-9" connection on my laptop...maybe my PC. Is there a different kind of cable I can use?
What kind of cable hardware can I use to connect to my receiver? |
