You will both be wondering what all the trepidation was all about when you get to grips with them, we were all at the stage you are now at, but in the end all will become apparent.
I am sure some will not believe that BB speed, I have attached a screen grab of the results from Speedtest.net so you can all have a look lol. Regards Wez

Hi again Kerrywez.
Thanks for the information. All I know is its a Starlight MX !! The cover over the card and 2 CAM slots is missing !! No other markings on it only DSRV0235159240 sticker on rear. And to make things more interesting the remote is broken so have limited options using built in menu button .What a disaster !! ![]() I stuck the connection (in the kids room) from the main Sky dish into it to scan for the FTA channels and was able to open them ok. Looks like I will be looking to buy sooner than I thought.Looked at the Technomate TM5400 CI+ USB 135 Euro from Amazon and also saw a Ferguson Ariva HD combo box on Satellite.ie for 149 Euro.Any thoughts ? |

Hold fire mate, give Ian at Southernsatellites a call he will sort you out with what you want for less than that I am sure, he is one of the good guys and will not sell you what you don't need.
Regards Wez

Dont worry I wont rush into anything. Trouble is I dont know what I want ! Just want a decent receiver that can be updated if needed, having HD covered also is probably a good idea. Most receivers with card slots and CI slots will cover the basics, yes? Will put up a motorised dish also in near future.
