Default Satellite Tv Card For PC - Help Needed

I have just recently had my sky + turned off, but i am thinking of getting a tv card for the pc with CI, so i can put my viewing card in as some free channels like C5, Sky 3 need the viewing card and at some point i might get my sky reactivated what i am wondering is will i still be able to record and pause, with this viewing card, what i am asking is, is the signal sent to the box or the card that controls what you can pause or record.Any advice would be welcomed. Thanks

Woah! Loads of questions and insufficient information!

Which card are you thinking of? Not all can easily be used in pci cards. If its Sky UK then you need a valid Sky UK card (FreesatfomSky or expired subscription card) for the ftv channels. End of story - nothing else will do.
