I think you would be better off getting an adapter for the cable to connect it to a pc, ive done this before to reformat, and it just shows up as F or G storage device, you can just click on it in " computer " and access all files. The lead should be long enough if you take the side cover off the pc to not have to fit it in.

what would the cable be called mate , 3.5 to 2.5 sata connection ?
just searched and 2.5 is the same connection as 3.5 therefore , would this slot in my pc , as a 2nd drive Last edited by southpaw; 01-03-10 at 11:21 PM. Reason: posted before searching |

Yes i think if its sata its the same, the ide type are different.

You could use the DVD drive one if you havnt got more than 2 on the mobo, nite nite.

managed to recover hdd contents ,as suggested by Reddiesel, i connected it to dvd drive connections in my pc , pc then mounted the drive as "f drive" and i was able to drag + drop perfectly ,
