Default Foxsat-HDR: Twin Tuner Problem with Diseqc Motor

Hi forum,

Have the box setup with two seperate feeds from the LNB with a DiseqC 1.2 motor. Booting up it detects both cables and loads Freesat correctly. Testing the twin tuner everything looks fine.

When you then go into the Advanced menu and switch the antenna from Fixed to Motor, as well as wiping your freesat channels (which i know you have to re-tune back later), it seems to disable the second tuner connected to the second LNB cable.

Therefore you can't record two programs at the same time in either Freesat or non-Freesat.

Is this correct, or is it just the way/order I have set it up. All the help and setup I can find seems to always be installing a diseqC switch rather than a diseqC motor.

Anyone else using this receiver with a motorised dish and got this working with both tuners?

Leni.

That's a common complaint with the foxsat recievers. I even spoke to their technical support about it and they confirmed that twin tuners only work in freesat mode. Though some claim that they work fine with switches, just not with a motor.

Thanks for the quick reply Rick.

I'll just have to use the loop through for now and hope they update it in the future. It's anoying because the menu has the option of selecting how many cables are connected, but it greys out as soon as you select motor antenna.

Wish I hadn't bought the blasted thing now!

Bottom line is that the Humax HDR's are great for Freesat HD recording and watching, but for non-Freesat they are a PITA.

Another thing I noticed is that you have to go through enabling each satellite one at a time, instead of clicking all the ones you want in one go. Generally I think the way that the motorised option has been implemented in the menus is not obvious to navigate. As as first only one satellite appears in the list.

Humax should really get that act together on this box, because it could be good for motorised twin tuner use, if only they sorted the software properly.

What the heck is the red green yellow blue green yellow blue, all about!!!!

Yes that caught me out as well as I enabled a number of satelites and expected to click Save once - but that would be far too easy.

It is about time they sorted these issues out. Annoying that they offer these advanced features, but when you try and use them and find they don't work fully, they say it's not supported?? Well why attempt to offer features that you don't support. If they don't support it - who does?

Oh well, we'll see what happens at the next upgrade. When I saw loader version u7.53 I though this was what I was waiting for as it mentioned changes to DiseqC in the setup wizard. Tried the new version, but no change, so must just be for DisqC switches and not motors.

Well, I suppose its better than not having the features accessible at all, like the other Freesat and Sky receivers.
