Default Having to use a proxy server.

I'm having to use a proxy server to get access to the site. Don't know if the problem is at my end or not but I'm getting the ''Oops!'' message with Google using IE 8. Just thought I'd let you know.

Was that just with Techwatch? I'm having no other problems apart from Techwatch.

Tried that. Firefox won't open the site either! Tried everything I could find about DNS server errors. Gonna give up for now because I'm very close to putting my steel toe caps on and doing a jig on the pc. Thanks for your help anyway Jim.

Hi lads I have just got into the forums again, after two days. Every browser I have could not connect. I had several viruses on my laptop, AVG found one in my Windows Old, it is my Vista, which Win7 keeps, I manually deleted the files, because AVG said they were too big. I then ran Malwarebites, which came up with some other bugs, which it dealt with. I do not understand how I got these bugs as I have AVG Pro running and it updates itself, Spybot is running from startup and I have the paid for version of ZoneAlarm, but these things got past them. Anyone who can't get in the forums, then run Malwarebites and it should get the bugs.

Regards Wez

Guy on keyboard press crt alt & delete @ the same time, then check in processes. Here you can see how many processes are running on your pc.If something not right, you can right click onit to end,but read what your ending first before you do this.Other wise your pc could end up not working right.Someone yersterday tryed to hit me with HTTP Gumblar Request, its a nasty bugger if it gets in your pc.Google seach & things like this it knackers up for one.I stopped it getting in.Here a wright up onit.

Gumblar Description
Gumblar is malicious software that is known to steal FTP credentials from a victim's computer allowing remote users to access a webmasters website to import malicious scripts. Gumblar infects php, html and js website files. Affected users are known to be redirected to malicious websites through Google search engine result pages that return the results of infected websites. Gumblar is also able to install a backdoor that connects to an IP address of a known botnet, further increasing the chances of the infected system to be compromised by a remote source.

Gumblar varies from previous malicious exploits in the way that it spreads. It is able to spread through users who browse legitimate websites that were injected with a script via a comprimised webmaster's website using their FTP credentials. Gumblar's code is dynamically generated making it very difficult to manually detect and remove.

Gumblar can be compared to the Conficker Worm infection because of the way it is able to spread. Gumblar uses FTP credentials that it steals to compromise a vast amount of websites which in return could expose several other victims over a period of time. If you browse to an infected website then your system may become infected. Computer users with FTP credentials stored on their system that are infected with Gumblar are in danger of having their information stolen.
