m8 just off phone had sky plus and now upgraded to sky hd says picture terrible ... it was a self install

is there something in box settings u need to change????

If using an HDMI lead, with a 1080p TV, on the Sky HD channels, the picture quality and clarity should be absolutely superb with the HD Sky channels, seen it myself.

Thats assuming that the signal from the dish is OK, of course, and that the box or TV is not up the spout.

It partly depends on your TV but this can happen when watching SD channels. The box isn't particularly good at rendering an SD picture on a HD display.

Sky also dont really use much in the way of true HD. A lot of the content on the HD channels is simply upscaled at source and a lot more is simply 720p (tbh not much, if any, better than analog).

720p is freakkkin loads better than analogue!

but you are right no one broadcasts in HD (yet) as HD is classed as 1080p
Real real HD is blueray DVD.. get one of them badboys!

but i've watched BBC HD and the football is loads better than even normal sky sports.

By the time you include the artifacts of compression and the problems due to pixellation I think you'll find most people would agree that an analogue picture on a decent crt is far better than any 720p picture (not in static image tests, were talking a proper moving picture here).

The majority of people also prefer the odd sparklie you got with analogue rather than the mpeg dropouts you get that nearly always result in a large section of the picture being corrupted for upto several seconds.

well guys i got sky hd in today and the comparison to virgin is a total let down...

on the sd channels it looks grainy and out of focus then when i av on to virgin st box clear as anything..

changed box setting to rgb, using the hdmi cable

anything else can do?
