Its very hard to tell from that, which way does your dish point it the photo ? Or give us due south.

Much Better

I think you have picked about the best position you can reception wise. You could concrte a post in and use that, or lay a couple of flags and use a ground mount. How tall are the trees ?

erm.. well i don't want to use concrte tbh, not a big diy man .. erm.. i was going to use a stand of ebay.. thing is if i put dish in the garden, it will have to go in flower bed and problem is i don't think it will be solid enough, i recon it will move.. is their an easy solution for this? i was going to get a stand and get like big rocks or something heavy, rest it on the legs of the stand and hope for the best :-/

Please advise

thanks aj

Well I would advise doing it properly, a 1m dish could go flying in a bad wind if it's nor secured properly.

You could use a NPRM mount, and a few slabs to hold it down, that should work OK.

The dish face needs to be more or less vertical.

The dish can be at any height - the satellites are 36000km away, so an extra 30 or 40 feet isnt going to make any difference whatsoever - all my dishes are at fencepost level, with one ground mounted example.
